2012-12-04 14:12:41 | (0 Comments)

Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

The Old harbour police say they are following strong leads in the robbery of $1.2 million in the town yesterday.

The money was reportedly taken from a wholesale employee, who was on her way to the bank about midday.

No one was arrested in connection with the robbery.

In the meantime, Operations Officer for the St Catherine South Police division, Superintendent Clive Blair is appealing to persons conducting such transactions to ask the police for assistance.

Business operators in Old Harbour have already expressed concern about the level of crime in the town.

Just recently a church group marched through the town as a show of solidarity in the fight against crime.
