ACP Cochrane assures Clarendon residents of safety

2012-12-09 10:52:51 | (0 Comments)

The killing of three persons in two days is causing many Clarendon residents to be fearful, but the Area Three Police is assuring them that they will be safe.

Among those killed between Friday and Saturday is 13-year-old Vere Technical High School student, Odale Planter.

Outgoing Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Derrick Cochrane, who heads the Area Three Police, says residents can be assured that there is adequate deployment of police personnel and resources to ensure their safety.

In bolstering his assurance of safety, ACP Cochrane pointed out that the police had managed to reduce the murder tally in Clarendon from a high of 162 in 2009 to 80 last year.

He also says residents have a responsibility to co-operate with the police to help keep their communities safe.
