Jamaican fugitive nabbed in T&T

A Jamaican fugitive has been arrested in Trinidad and Tobago.

Alton "Frosty" Wilson, otherwise known as Nigel "Froms" Richards, of a Kingston address was arrested by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force on Thursday in Cunupia.

The 33-year-old man is wanted by Jamaican law enforcement for a January 2009 murder. Wilson has been handed over to immigration officers and Interpol.

He is expected to be returned to Jamaica shortly.

A team of officers from the North Eastern Division Task Force, led by Sergeant Cornelius Samuel and Corporal Daryll La Pierre, went to an apartment building along Boyie Trace off Madras Road in Cunupia where they arrested the man along with two female Jamaican nationals who were in the country illegally.

Wilson is reported to have been evading capture since 2009. He was charged locally in mid-2009 for possession of a fraudulent passport and served a six-month prison sentence.

The detention order for the murder in Jamaica was not issued until sometime after the expiration of his sentence. He has eluded capture since then.
