Four arrested, firearm seized

Four persons including a woman are now in police custody in connection with the seizure of a homemade firearm and two 9 millimeter cartridges, which were seized during an operation in Backlands, Jones Avenue, St. Catherine yesterday.

The police say four others were also detained in relation to crimes committed in Spanish Town during yesterday’s operation.

They say vegetable matter resembling ganja was also found during a search of 67 persons, four houses and three abandoned buildings.

The operation was conducted by a joint team of police and military personnel.
