Chelsea Avenue, Dominica Drive closed following cop shooting

The police have closed Chelsea Avenue and Dominica Drive in New Kingston following the shooting of a policeman during an attempted robbery this afternoon.

Police investigators are at this hour processing the crime scene in the vicinity of the two New Kingston roads.

"I was here when the plain clothes policeman said 'Police! Stop!' when the gunman spun around and shot him in the stomach," a bystander said.

Motorists are advised to use the alternate routes to Chelsea Avenue and Dominica Drive.
