Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer
The second of five prisoners who escaped from the Portmore lockup two months ago has been sentenced six months in prison for escaping custody and six months for malicious destruction of property. Amir Hanson, 25, of Spanish Town St Catherine was sentenced in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday. The sentences are to run at the same time, which means Hanson will only serve for six months. Hanson, who was facing charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition was held in Linstead, St Catherine on December 6. He was among several prisoners who cut their way through a window. The search is still on for some of the escapees.
