Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz crashed out of the 2012 Caribbean Cup in Antigua tonight and missed a chance to play in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which is slated for July 2013. The two-time defending champions were beaten 1-nil by Cuba in their final Group ‘B’ preliminary round game at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. As a result of the defeat, Jamaica ended their campaign at the bottom of the table on one point and did not make it to the semi-finals. Martinique, who earlier defeated French Guiana 3-1, and Cuba are the qualifiers from the group. Martinique ended with seven points, one ahead of Cuba, while French Guiana finished on three points. Martinique will now face Trinidad and Tobago in one of the semi-finals on Thursday, while Haiti and Cuba will contest the other semi-final. Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago secured the Group ‘A’ spots last night. The four semi-finalists have qualified for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the USA. sports@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
