The Premier of the Cayman Islands, McKeeva Bush, is now in Jamaica where he is down to address graduands at the University College of the Caribbean’s Fall 2012 Commencement ceremony.

Bush was released from police custody yesterday, after he was arrested on Tuesday in relation to financial irregularities.

The embattled Premier was scheduled to receive an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from UCC for his years of service as Cayman’s longest serving legislator.

However, it’s understood the institution has decided to withhold the honorary degree pending the outcome of the investigation in the Cayman Islands.

So far no charges have been laid against the Premier.
