Lamasa talks continue tomorrow

2012-12-17 08:56:42 | (0 Comments)

Representatives of the National Workers Union (NWU) and Lamasa Janitorial Services Limited are to return to the Labour Ministry tomorrow, to hold further talks on payments to workers.

The parties are to discuss issues related to notice and redundancy settlements for about 400 workers.

The ancillary workers are set to lose their jobs as Lamasa’s contract with the Government to provide services at the Bustamante Hospital for Children and the Kingston Public and Victoria Jubilee hospitals expires today.

On Friday, the union and the company failed to reach an agreement on the payments during talks at the labour ministry.
