NewsJamaican killed in Cayman identified2012-12-18 11:05:01 | (0 Comments)
The Jamaican man who was killed in Cayman on Sunday night has been identified as 23-year-old Jackson Rainford.
The police in Cayman had reported that about 10.30 Sunday night, a gunman approached the white Honda Civic motorcar in which Rainford was a passenger and opened fire before running off. They said the driver of the vehicle was not hurt and has since been interviewed. A 20-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning in connection with the murder. Meanwhile, the police say a post-mortem has been scheduled for this weekend. They say they have also opened a Murder Incident Room at the police station in George Town with 15 officers dedicated to the investigation. The shooting death is the first to occur in the Cayman Islands since September 2011.
