Scrap metal federation welcomes news but...

2012-12-19 13:10:47 | with audio | (0 Comments)

On hearing the news that the scrap metal trade will resume in January, the President of the Scrap Metal Federation, Jonathan Aarons, said the decision has not been formally communicated to his association.

However, he said the announcement is welcomed although he and his members would want to look at the conditions under which the trade will re-open before declaring victory.

He said he expects to get those details tomorrow at 1 o’ clock in the afternoon, when his association is scheduled to meet with the Minister of Industry.

Back in November, the federation had asked its lawyer to write the Industry Ministry seeking answers it believes are critical to the resumption of the scrap metal trade.

Then, Aarons had complained that his association felt excluded from the decision making process.
