NewsClinton/Bush relief fund gives grants for Haiti projects2012-12-23 10:04:13 | (0 Comments)
The Clinton/Bush Haiti Fund is to provide final grants to organizations that seek to promote economic opportunity in the earthquake-ravaged country.
The Fund has announced that the Multilateral Investment Fund will manage programmes that have not yet been fully completed, and will receive funds from remaining loans. The announcements come as the Fund prepares to end its operations in Haiti on December 31. The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund is a non-profit organization created after the magnitude 7 earthquake that ravaged the French-speaking country in January 2010. It was established after United States President Barack Obama asked former presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush to assist the Haitian people to rebuild their country The fund has raised some US$54.4 million which it says has been used to support more than 50 organizations that have helped Haitians create a better future through sustainable economic development.
