St Catherine wanted man arrested by police

A man who the police say was wanted for several shootings in St Catherine is now in custody.

He was among 12 persons taken into custody during an operation in the community of Windsor Heights on Friday.

His name is being withheld pending further investigations.

The Central Village Police say a quantity of furniture and appliances believed to have been stolen were also seized during the operation.

The Constabulary Communications Network says five of those detained have been charged with trespassing on the work of the Jamaica Public Service Company, while the others were released.
