NewsCement prices hike2012-12-27 12:15:12 | (0 Comments) ![]() Bags of cement being loaded on a cargo ship for export - file photo. Caribbean Cement Company has announced price increases for a bag of cement. The company said effective January 7, the prices for its packaged Carib Plus will be increased by 15.4 per cent. There is also to be slight adjustments in the prices for other products. A bag of Carib Cement OPC will be sold for $780 while Carib Cement plus will sell for $755 per bag. Carib Cement said it had to increase its prices in order to generate enough money to meet debt payments. The company is maintaining that the price adjustments are reasonable and that the level of increase was kept at a minimum, to allow it to avoid defaulting on its financial commitments. It said it will facilitate the delivery of cement at the current price to customers, who have pre-paid for the product up to January 11, 2013. Carib Cement said all cement picked up after that date will attract the new prices.
