Mayor of Kingston and St Andrew, Angella Brown-Burke - File.
The Mayor of Kingston says come January, the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC), will be taking steps to remove illegal vendors from the streets of downtown Kingston.

Mayor Angella Brown-Burke said the corporation usually removes the vendors close to year end.

However, she said this has not worked, as vendors ignore the rules in order to take advantage of the heightened Christmas shopping period.

However, Mayor Brown Burke said the KSAC will be tough on the issue in the New Year.

According to her, illegal vendors and some merchants have been improperly disposing their garbage contributing to the pile-up on the streets.
