Two people were killed and four others injured in separate motor vehicle crashes in western Jamaica on the weekend.
Those killed have been identified as 73-year-old Cecil McKay of Stony Hill, St Andrew and 37-year-old Calvin Walsh of Pullet Lane in Westmoreland. According to the Constabulary Communication Network, McKay was pronounced dead at hospital following a collision between a Toyota Corolla motor car and a Toyota Coaster bus which were traveling in opposite directions yesterday on the Point main road in Hanover. Four other persons who were traveling in the Corolla have been hospitalised. In the other crash the CCN said Walsh died when he was flung from the vehicle he was driving, which overtuned into a ditch and landed on a shop on the Hartford main road in Westmoreland on Friday. The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. when Walsh reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Investigations continue into both crashes.
