Jerome Reynolds, Gleaner Writer

The Cave Valley Police in St. Ann are now searching for a man involved in a hit-and-run in the parish yesterday.

They say he ran from a scene where an elderly woman was mowed down.

The dead woman has been identified as 77-year-old Winklet Garvey of Higgin Town, St. Ann.

The police say Garvey was walking along the Cave Valley road, when she was hit by a Townace motor truck.

They say they were called to the scene and the elderly woman was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the motor truck allegedly fled the scene.

The truck was seized.
