Prisoner escapes from police guard at Spanish Town Hospital

The St Catherine police are searching for a prisoner, who escaped from custody this morning.

He has been identified as 30-year-old labourer, Leon Damar Smith otherwise called ‘Dung Don’, of Portsmouth, St Catherine.

The police said about 4’ o clock this morning, Smith who was under police guard at the Spanish Town Hospital, managed to free himself and fled the compound.

Smith had been in custody on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

He was recently held by police after he allegedly went to rob an exotic night club.
