Head of the police traffic division, senior Superintendent Radcliff Lewis, is scheduled to meet with court officials today, in a bid to resolve problems being experienced by motorists seeking to avoid prosecution for outstanding traffic tickets following the recent amnesty.

The police have said they will put prosecutions on hold for the next two weeks, to allow persons to pay their fines through the court.

SSP Lewis said today's meeting will seek to put in place a system for dealing with the expected crowds.

SSP Lewis said as soon as the meeting is completed, motorists with warrants or outstanding tickets will be informed of their new court dates.

The traffic cop has hinted that there could be a further extension to two-week grace period.
