Jury could begin deliberation today in Boulevard murder trial

2013-01-09 10:57:05 | (0 Comments)

Justice Horace Marsh is today expected to wrap up his summation to the jury in the Boulevard murder trial.

The jury is expected to begin deliberating when Justice Marsh completes his summation.

The jurors will have to decide whether the evidence they heard during the trial which began on October 29 is enough to convict the three policemen accused of murder.

Corporals Paul Edwards and Louie Lynch and Assistant Superintendent Victor Barrett are on trial in connection with December 23, 2004 disappearance of 20-year-old Kemar Walters and 44-year-old Oliver Duncan.

The Crown’s main witness, who is a former policeman, has testified that Edwards told him that the men were shot and killed.

Barrett is accused of covering up the incident after a report was made to him.

The three policemen have given unsworn statements denying that they were involved in the incident.
