NewsCop faces court for corruption2013-01-09 15:04:35 | (0 Comments)
Constable Alteman Hare is to appear in the Linstead Resident Magistrate’s Court today, on charges of breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.
Constable Hare, who is attached to the St. Catherine North Division, was arrested by detectives from the Anti Corruption Branch over the weekend. It’s reported that Constable Hare was conducting traffic duties in the Linstead area of St. Catherine, when he allegedly stopped a Canadian motorist and demanded that he pay a sum of money or his vehicle would be taken. The complainant reportedly paid the sum and then proceeded on his journey. The matter was later reported to the Anti Corruption Branch and an investigation launched. The policeman was subsequently arrested and charged. b> Like our new Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/gleanerjamaica Follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/JamaicaGleaner radio@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
