A senior member of the Government is declaring that the Cabinet will not be bullied or dictated to by any individual or group.

This morning at a People's National Party (PNP) press conference, Peter Bunting, who is the national security minister, said however that the Government would consider constructive suggestions.

The Cabinet this morning began a three-day retreat, which will consider, among other things, the state of Jamaica's economy.

Bunting says members of the Government have heard the call for more information on the state of the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and would be using the retreat to address the issue.

Sector leaders have challenged the government to present a clear plan for moving the country forward when it emerges from its retreat.
