The district of Red Dirt in Duncans, Trelawny is now tense following the shooting of two men this afternoon.

The two men - identified only as Marvin of a Braco address, and Xavier from Duncans in the parish - were shot by gunmen about 1 p.m.

The shooting happened about 100 metres away from the Duncans Police Station and comes three days after eight-year-old British girl, Imani Green, was shot dead and two other people injured in a nearby community.

Witnesses reportedly heard loud explosions this afternoon and upon investigation the two men were found with gunshot wounds.

One of them died on the spot.

The other was taken to hospital.
