Falmouth Hospital suspends surgeries

2013-01-16 13:29:50 | (0 Comments)

Jerome Reynolds, Gleaner Writer

Surgeries have been temporarily suspended at the Falmouth Hospital in Trelawny.

The Western Regional Health Authority said the operating theater at the facility has been closed to facilitate much-needed repairs.

The authority said the closure will last until February 10.

It said emergency surgeries have been transferred to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay.

Meanwhile, the authority is asking persons to contact the hospital to re-schedule their elective surgeries.

However, the authority said the Falmouth Hospital will continue to accept patients with emergencies.
