Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is not the only solution for Jamaica.

Speaking after the 33rd staging of the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast this morning, the Prime Minister said the solution to the country’s problems lies in the Jamaican people.

She said she fears that many people believe that the IMF is the only solution.

The Prime minister noted that while an IMF agreement will assist the country, Jamaicans must also unite to achieve further growth and development in the island.

At a press conference on Monday, the Prime Minister stayed away from saying whether there’s a plan B despite calls from financial analysts for the government to disclose what other options other than the IMF are available to the country.
