Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

St Catherine man Kevin Hewitt, who took a woman to his house and raped her was found guilty by a jury when he appeared in court today.

Hewitt, 30-year-old labourer of Old Harbour, St Catherine, was also charged with abduction but was freed of that offence.

The crown led evidence that in 2011, Hewitt picked up the complainant in Old Harbour.

It's reported that he took her to his house where he sexually assaulted her.

The woman made a report to the police and following an investigation Hewitt was charged.

He is to return to court on January 31 for sentencing.
