Youth ministry director murdered in Spanish Town

The Ministry of Youth and Culture has confirmed that its Director of Corporate Services Sean Thompson was shot and killed at his home in Spanish Town St. Catherine last night.

The circumstances leading to Mr. Thompson’s death are not yet clear.

But it’s understood he received multiple gunshots.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Youth and Culture says arrangements are being made for grief counselling to be available for Mr. Thompson’s co-workers.

Minister Lisa Hanna has expressed shock and regret at Mr. Thompson’s death.

The Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Sydney Bartley says the news and tragic circumstances of Mr. Thompson’s passing will be difficult for the entire Ministry and its management and staff.
