NewsPolice post for Charles Gordon Market2013-01-19 08:57:32 | (0 Comments)
A police post is to be established at the Charles Gordon Market in St James.
Yesterday, the St James Parish Council handed over space in the market to the Area One Police for the setting up of the post. Mayor of Montego Bay and Chairman of the St James Parish Council, Glendon Harris, says the establishment of the police post at the market is part of a plan to attract more visitors to the facility. He says the St James Parish Council has embarked on a concerted effort to put order into vending at the market and even tour buses have started to revisit the market. Assistant Commissioner of Police in Charge of Area one, Devon Watkis, says a team of approximately 14 police personnel will be posted at the facility.
