Cavalier to know opponent tonight for Premier League end of round final

2013-01-21 10:17:46 | (0 Comments)

Cavalier’s opponents for the second end of round final of the Red Stripe Premier League will be decided today following the Monday Night fixture.

Boys’ Town will host Portmore United in the Monday Night fixture at the Anthony Spaulding Complex, starting at 9 o’clock.

Portmore United and tournament leaders Harbour View are the teams in contention to face Cavalier in the incentive final.

Harbour View stayed on course to qualify for the final after scoring a 1-nil victory over Arnett Gardens at the Harbour View Stadium yesterday.

With the victory, Harbour View climbed from fourth to second place on 20 points and are heavily favoured to join Cavalier in the final.

Fifth place Portmore United, on 17 points, can join Harbour View on 20 points with victory over Boys’ Town today.

However, the defending champions need to win by four clear goals to deny Harbour View.

Cavalier booked their spot in the final after playing to an away goalless draw against Highgate United at Drax Hall Sports Compex in St Ann yesterday.

Montego Bay United were denied the chance of joining Cavalier in the final after a shock 1-nil defeat to bottom place Savannah.

In other games yesterday, Humble Lion scored a 1-nil home victory over Waterhouse at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon, while Sporting Central edged Tivoli Gardens 2-1 at the Edward Seaga Complex.
