The two men who allegedly took a woman to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to force her to change her witness statement in a murder case have been further remanded.
Mark Harris otherwise called 'Mark 2' and Edwin Hibbert, otherwise called 'Blue' reappeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today. They are charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. When the matter was called up, the court was informed that the case file was incomplete. The case was then set for mention on February 6. It’s reported that the men took the woman to the DPP’s Office on November 30 demanding that she change her statement in a murder case. They reportedly sent the her inside the building, and waited on the outside. It is reported that the staff at the Office became suspicious after the woman started crying and alerted the police. One man was held immediately. The other man was held hours later in downtown Kingston. The woman and her husband were placed in the witness protection programme following the men's arrest.
