NewsWater disruption affects St Andrew communities2013-01-23 09:37:18 | (0 Comments)
Corporate Area residents served by the Constant Spring Treatment Plant are set to continue experiencing disruptions in their water supply today.
The National Water Commission (NWC) had advised that some areas would have been without water up to 4 a.m. The NWC said another scheduled water disruption will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. Customers are being asked to use the five hours between the disruptions to replenish stored water. The NWC said the earlier disruption was due to technical difficulties being experienced at the Plant, while the second period of disruption will allow the Jamaica Public Service Company to effect repairs to a defective turbine at its Hydro Plant. Among the affected areas are Constant Spring, Cherry Gardens, Havendale, Half Way Tree, Lady Musgrave, sections of Liguanea, Manor Park, Shortwood Road, White Hall Gardens, Eastwood Park Gardens, Hughenden, Stillwell Road, Grants Pen and surrounding areas. The National Water Commission is seeking to assure that every effort will be made to restore normal water supply within the time specified.
