NewsInvestigation into attempted suicide of female wards ongoing2013-01-23 14:05:05 | (0 Comments) ![]() Commissioner of Corrections Lieutenant Colonel Sean Prendergast - file photo. The wards were transferred to the University Hospital days after the December 29 incident and placed under psychiatric care. Colonel Prendergast said they are still at the hospital. He said he is still awaiting test results to determine what tablets the girls took and how many. The investigation is also seeking to determine how the girls got more than the prescribed dosage of medication. Meanwhile, the Commissioner said investigations are also ongoing into an incident at the Metcalfe Street Juvenile Centre during which a female warden reportedly assaulted a ward. He said the Office of the Children’s Advocate is involved in the probe and has requested certain information which the Department of Corrections is providing.
