Fisherman dies at sea

2013-01-24 09:15:59 | (0 Comments)

The community of Anchovy in Portland is now in mourning following the suspected drowning of a fisherman.

The fisherman, 19-year-old Kavoy Flynn, was reportedly at sea with two of his colleagues off the Morant Cays on Tuesday, when the drowning incident happened.

Police sources have reported that the three were diving using the aid of a compressor with hoses extending to dozens of feet below the water surface, when it was discovered that the hose being used by Flynn was severed.

The police say Flynn reportedly floated to the surface and was assisted by his colleagues into the boat.

They reportedly immediately administered first aid, but he did not respond.

Flynn was later rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
