Man linked to gold bar robbery killed

2013-01-24 13:12:28 | (0 Comments)

A man was shot and killed in Fletcher’s Land, Kingston this morning.

The man, whom residents identified as Oshane Francis was shot and killed at John’s Lane in the community about 7.30 a.m.

Reports say he was approached by two men who shot him and ran.

Investigators believe the murder is linked to the theft of gold bars in downtown Kingston last month.

The gold bars, valued at more than $50 million, were stolen from a businessman.

One of the robbers was shot and killed and another was shot and injured during the robbery.

The police have since arrested and charged five men, including a police constable in connection with the theft.
