NACAC Cross Country Champs on today

The top middle- and long-distance athletes from the region will compete in Mandeville today at the ninth North America, Central America and Caribbean Cross Country Championships.

The Manchester Golf Club in Mandeville will be the venue for the event, which has attracted more than 150 athletes from eight countries.

Canada head the list of overseas teams and will field the full complement of 24 competitors. Hosts Jamaica will also have a team comprising 24 competitors.

Action gets under way at 2:15 in the afternoon with the 4K for junior girls.

This will be followed by the 6K junior men scheduled for 3 o’clock, the 6K women at 3:45 and the 8K men at 4:30.
