Gareth Davis, Gleaner Writer
The police are reporting that the missing 14-year-old student from Manchester was last night found in the Portland community of Comfort Castle in the company of a male with whom she is reported to have developed a relationship through social networking site Facebook. The two were picked up shortly after 7 p.m Friday by a special team. The teen, who was last seen on January 21 in Manchester, attended a prominent high school in that parish, and reportedly met the 22-year-old male in November. According to the police, the teen agreed to meet with her male friend in Portland. Earlier this week, the Portland Police were contacted by their counterparts in Manchester to help in locating the teen, whom they suspected was hiding with her male friend. After detailed ground work, the police were able to locate the man and the teen in the remote community of Comfort castle in the Upper Rio Grande Valley. He faces the possibility of several charges including sex crimes.
