2013-01-28 13:08:26 | (0 Comments)

Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

Several commuters in Spanish Town, St Catherine were left stranded this morning as taxi operators withdrew their service.

The taxi drivers were protesting against the poor condition of St. Johns Road.

From as early as 8 o’ clock, the taxis used their vehicles to block the road near the Johnson Pen community.

The operators traverse the Kitson Town to Spanish Town and St. John Road to Spanish Town routes.

They complained that for years the road has been neglected and they have been suffering.

The taxi drivers are calling for the relevant authorities to fix the roadway.
