The National Works Agency (NWA) is seeking to assure users of the Spaldings to Cave Valley main road in Clarendon and St Ann, that the multimillion dollar
rehabilitation work being conducted should be completed by its March deadline.

The upgrading works being done under the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme, include rehabilitation of several areas which proved a dangerous obstacle course for motorists.

The NWA’s manager of Communication and customer services, Stephen Shaw said most of the work has already been completed.

Last year, motorists staged demonstrations appealing to the NWA and other relevant authorities to take urgent steps in having the roadway repaired.

Shaw said barring any problems in erecting retaining walls and repairs to a broken water main, the resurfacing and rehabilitation exercise should be completed according to plan.
