Illegal weapons seized, four in custody

Four persons are now in police custody in connection with the seizure of four illegal guns in separate incidents yesterday.

The police report that a man and a woman were arrested after a .45 semi-automatic pistol with serial number erased, along with three .45 cartridges was found in a car along Maxfield Avenue yesterday.

According to reports from the Constabulary Communications Network, three homemade firearms were also seized in separate operations in St. James and St. Catherine yesterday.

They say two firearms were found in an open lot in Friendship district in St. James, while the other was found in Grove Farm, Old Harbour during a search of a building.

Two men were taken into custody in connection with that find.
