NewsWater disruption affects Trelawny and Westmoreland2013-01-30 08:57:58 | (0 Comments)
National Water Commission (NWC) customers served by the Barnstaple Deep Well in Trelawny, who are currently experiencing water disruption may have to wait another two days before regular water supplies return to their taps.
The NWC said it had to institute the temporary disruption because of problems with the well’s pumping systems. In a release last evening, the utility company said it was working assiduously to complete the necessary repairs and restore water at the earliest possible time. Areas affected are Barnstaple, Westwood, Stewart Town, Jackson Hill and Mahogony Hall. Meanwhile, the NWC is advising that mechanical challenges at the Barneyside facility in Westmoreland have necessitated similar measures on that system. Areas being affected are Cornwall Mountain, Lambs River, Mount Stewart, Stuie and Barneyside. The Agency said water will be trucked to the affected customers.
