Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will today participate in the fifth of a series of parish fora aimed at providing the public with information on key aspects of national development and parish-level concerns.

The meetings also form part of the government’s thrust to promote accountability, transparency and to allow direct feedback and recommendations from citizens.

Today’s forum organised by the Social Development Commission will take place at the St. Hilda’s High School Auditorium in Brown’s Town, St. Ann and will begin at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

Four similar fora were held in St. Catherine, Clarendon and St. James last year.

The continuation of the series will provide an opportunity for Simpson Miller to further engage the public on a range of topical issues and for the public to share their concerns with her.

Today's forum will also provide an opportunity for relevant government agencies to update the public on programmes and initiatives specific to the local and parish levels.

Simpson Miller and Local Government and Community Development Minister Noel Arscott, are among those expected to field questions from the audience.
