UTech extends tuition fee deadline

The Administration of the University of Technology (UTech) has offered a further reprieve to students who are finding it difficult to pay their fees for the current semester.

In a notice, the Administration said following discussions with student leadership it has decided to extend the enrollment deadline to Friday, February 8.

This is the second time the university has extended the deadline.

It says a minimum payment of 50 per cent of tuition fees for modules selected must be paid by next Friday and the balance by Thursday, March 28.

The university has stressed that students are required to complete payment of all tuition fees by the final deadline and to complete their enrolment online.

Meanwhile, it has advised that re-do of registration has been shifted to February 11 to 15.

The university says only students whose records indicate that they had selected modules and confirmed these up to January 25, will be included on the class lists for graded assignments that began on Monday, January 28.

It explains that grades will therefore only be posted for students who are on the lecturers’ class lists as having enrolled by January 25.

The university has maintained that the period to add or drop classes ended on January 25 and will not be reopened.
