NewsWICB explains Roach’s absence2013-01-30 14:01:34 | (0 Comments)
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), says a personal matter forced fast bowler Kemar Roach to miss yesterday's warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s Eleven side.
Roach was included in the Windies 15-man squad for their five match One-Day International series against Australia but was not among the players for the team’s warm-up fixture at Manuka Oval. The WICB released a brief statement yesterday saying Roach was given leave to attend a personal matter but did not elaborate. Roach is expected to join the team later this week in Perth for the first One-Day International at the WACA Ground on Friday. West Indies lost by 23 runs to the Australian Prime Minister’s Eleven after their run chase was disrupted when Keiran Powell was forced to retire hurt eight runs shy of a century.
