NewsUS Embassy clarifies USCIS closure2013-01-31 09:20:05 | (0 Comments) ![]() US Emabssy Office In Liguanea, St Andrew - File. There have been concerns ever since the US Embassy announced the office would be closed on March 1, with its services being transferred to the Dominican Republic. In another release yesterday, the US Embassy in Kingston sought to make it clear that it was not the entire embassy which was being closed but the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The USCIS is a specialised government agency that oversees matters of lawful immigration to the United States. The Embassy says routine consular services for tourist, student, official and immigrant visa applications and American Citizen Services will continue to be offered by the consular section.
