NewsSlain cop's mom urges Force to prevent training accidents2013-02-02 12:50:01 | (0 Comments)
The mother of the police Constable killed during a training exercise at the Jamaica Police Academy wants the Jamaica Constabulary Force to immediately put measures in place to prevent a similar incident.
Constable Ricardo McKenzie was among six police personnel from the Mobile Reserve Division who were shot during a tactical firearm training exercise shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Constable McKenzie died while undergoing treatment at hospital. In urging the Police High Command to put measures to prevent a reoccurrence, Constable McKenzie’s mother Sophia Palmer says she wants to know the truth about how her son died. Palmer says she does not want another mother to experience the pain she is feeling, noting that her son was set to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering in September. The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the incident.
