NewsINDECOM gathers police instructors' statements2013-02-02 18:05:32 | (0 Comments) ![]() Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington has already indicated that on the face of it, this appears to be a breach of the standard operating procedure at the Academy. Senior Public Relations Officer at INDECOM Kahmile Reid says the instructors also faced a second round of interviews with investigators today. Reid says all the firearms involved in the incident are now at the lab for ballistics testing. Police Constable Ricardo McKenzie was fatally shot while five of his colleagues were wounded after live ammunition, instead of blanks, mysteriously found its way into the training exercise at the Academy’s Firearm and Tactical Training Village. Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington has already indicated that on the face of it, this appears to be a breach of the standard operating procedure at the Academy. The six instructors have been interdicted and Mr Ellington has ordered a review of the standard operating procedure at the training facility.
