Supplementary Estimates expected today

Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips is expected to table a Supplementary Estimates in the Parliament this afternoon.

The supplementary estimates were expected last week, however, last Tuesday, the House leader, Phillip Paulwell, said the estimates would instead be tabled today.

He said it is to be debated by the the Parliament next week.

The estimates are expected to outline changes to the government’s spending plans for the financial year, which is almost at an end.

Last year, Dr. Phillips tabled a $612 billion budget.

This was an increase of $76 billion more than the $536 billion which was allocated during the previous financial year.
