The National Youth Council of Jamaica is expressing shock at the killing of one of its peace advocates.
The police have confirmed that the dead body found in an open lot in Westchester, Portmore St Catherine on Sunday is that of youth advocate Omar Bailey. The Council says Bailey served as a JCF Safe School Resource Officer and was also the President of the Jamaica Youth Crime Prevention Council. It says it is deeply disturbed by his tragic death. The council adds that it is saddened by the fact that Bailey died as a result of the same violence he has been working to remove from communities.
