NewsGraceKennedy commits another six years to Champs2013-02-06 13:34:24 | (0 Comments)
The annual Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships received a major boost last night as title sponsors GraceKennedy has committed another six-year partnership with the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA).
The new deal means that GraceKennedy will remain title sponsors until 2016. GraceKennedy's chief executive officer Don Wehby made the announcement during the 2013 launch last night. The launch took place on the lawns of the National Indoors Sports Centre. President of ISSA, Dr. Walton Small welcomes the additional six years from GraceKennedy The 2013 championships will take place from Tuesday, March 12 to Saturday, March 14 at the National Stadium. This year ISSA has scrapped the opening ceremony, which usually takes place on the Friday. Instead, ISSA will use the Friday to recognise five stalwarts. They are Olympian Maurice Wignal, Nicole Mitchell, track official Ian Forbes and coaches Maurice Wilson and Donald Hawthorne. On Saturday’s final day, ISSA says the public will be treated to a spectacular Closing Ceremony and Concert.
