Customs Department warns Manchester business

2013-02-07 10:30:44 | (0 Comments)

The Jamaica Customs is warning a Manchester business that it will seize its property if it fails to pay over outstanding fees.

The company, Sophisticated Auto Parts, was discovered to owe just over $408,000 to the Customs Department following a 2010 audit.

The Customs Department says it made several attempts to collect the money and eventually had to take the matter to court.

On January 31 the court ordered that approximately $218,000 should be paid by February 14 with the balance to be paid by February 28.
